Adventuring Dreamer (noun): someone who feels an irresistible urge to travel and explore the world, who envisions extraordinary futures, and who is unafraid to stray against the norm of society.

Hey there! I’m Sckylar. I developed this website to be a place for people who desire to create amazing, abundant, adventurous lives for themselves.

So, if that sounds like you — welcome!

Adventuring Dreamers is where I put all the knowledge I’ve collected over the years around travel, mindset, and manifestation.

I share travel tips, tricks, and itinerary ideas. I’ve also deeply studied psychology, personal development, mindset, and manifestation, and I share what I’ve learned here, too. Because to me, adventure is more than just travel — it’s about living your very best life.

I believe that everyone deserves to live their best life, and maybe this blog can provide a little bit of inspiration or education to help you do just that. 🙂

Born To Be Wild — Why I Decided To Leave Corporate and Travel the World

All my life, I knew that I wasn’t meant to stay in one place for too long. I was meant to see the world.

I started doing that when I was 19. That’s when I moved out of my home state of Utah and traded small-town life for the big city of Phoenix, Arizona.

A few years later, I left the country for the first time and went to Europe. The year after that, I spent a month exploring New Zealand. And since then, I’ve been to 12 countries, 18 states, and counting.

But these short little trips across the globe were never enough. Even if I was gone for two or three weeks at a time, I always had to come back home, put on my blazer and slacks, and return to the office that paid for my vacations.

When Adventure Calls…

Getting dressed for work felt like I was putting on shackles and black and white pin-stripped pajamas.

Still, I worked hard. Because moving up the corporate ladder meant bigger paychecks. Which, to me, meant more trips. The only problem was as my paychecks grew bigger, so did my responsibilities. And soon enough, I was barely able to take a five-day vacation once per year — if I was lucky.

I was living my worst nightmare. I suddenly had the money to travel (or at least a bit more than I’d had before) but not the time. And I was working a job that was literally giving me gray hair just to sit at home on the weekends and suffer through the Sunday Scaries.

Then, in December 2019, I decided enough was enough, and I started taking some action so I could truly start living the life of my dreams.

Long story short, I left the corporate world and began navigating the terrifying world of being an entrepreneur. I had one goal in mind: Create a career where I had unlimited time and freedom to live my best, most adventurous life.

And, let me tell you — it’s been a wild ride.

Recently, my husband and I made another big change when we packed our bags and took off for New York City. Neither of us had ever been here before when we decided to sell our house and move. But when adventure calls, you’ve gotta answer! At least, that’s how it goes in our house.

So… Why Adventuring Dreamers?

This blog isn’t here to teach you how to leave the corporate world and become a full-time digital nomad like I did. There are a million blogs, courses, and mentors out there whose dharmas revolve around helping people do just that.

Instead, I created Adventuring Dreamers to be a place where I can share my expertise in three specific areas: Travel, Mindset, and Manifestation.

I created a life where travel is a top priority. And if that’s something you’re interested in as well, then I’ve got the tips, tricks, and perfect travel itineraries to help you out.

But it takes more than some excellent trip-planning skills to create a truly adventurous life. It also takes guts, gusto, and confidence. Our brains are naturally engineered to keep us inside our comfort zones — AKA away from our dream lives. To truly tap into the best version of yourself, you first need to make a few mindset shifts.

That’s why I also created this blog to share what I know about mindset and manifestation — to help you uncover and call in your truest desires.

Why I Travel Blog

✨ Traveling the world changes a person. It’s a magnificent way to learn about other cultures and also discover something new about yourself.

🌟 I want to show others that living an adventurous life — whatever that means to you — is possible.

✨ I also want to encourage people to go after their dreams and pursue their biggest goals and dreams. As far as we know, you’ve only got one life — so make it a good one.

Over the years, I’ve learned many traveling tricks. From budget hacks to finding unique places to visit and curating the perfect travel itinerary, I’ve developed into a travel expert.

That’s why I’ve dedicated a chunk of Adventuring Dreamers to all things travel-related, to help other travel-loving souls like me live out their travel dreams.

Why Is Mindset Important?

My personal development journey started when I was 23 and working at Barnes and Noble. At the time, I was feeling pretty lost and depressed. In fact, I’d been feeling lost and depressed for so long at this point that it had become my default.

One day, I was putting together a display in the front of the store with a selection of recommended books. One of the books drew my attention immediately because of its happy, bright yellow cover. I bought the book on impulse and read it that night.

The book was called You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero, and it changed my life.

At the time, I felt like anything but a badass. The feeling of being lost had a choke hold on me, and I felt like any confidence I’d once had was completely diminished.

Reading this book, with Jen’s sarcastic but peppy writing, reminded me of parts of myself that I’d forgotten about. This book inspired me to get in touch with those aspects of myself again and become the confident, fun-loving person I’d once been.

That book sparked my personal development journey, which has continued to the present day. I’ve become a personal development junkie. Seriously, I eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff. And it’s helped lead me to the incredible life I now live.

Learning about mindset changed my life in such a positive way that I want to share everything I’ve learned with anyone who is interested in using these tools to create a more fulfilling life too.

How Manifestation Can Help You Live Your Best, Most Adventurous Life

I first learned about the law of attraction when I was 13, and I watched The Secret with my mom. After that, I was hooked. I’ve spent the last 17 years learning the art of manifestation. I even earned my “MBA in Manifestation” through the Manifestation Babe Academy, an intensive six-month program that dives deep into the science of manifestation and how to consciously co-create with the universe.

In my life, I’ve been able to use the natural law of manifestation to manifest little things like cups of coffee, free dinner, and finding money on the pavement.

I’ve also manifested big things, like booking travel vacations, getting hired at my dream job (at the time), meeting my soulmate, and paying off more than $80K in debt.

It is my belief that your outer world is a direct reflection of your inner world. In other words, your thoughts, emotions, and energetic vibrations are what determine what your life looks like. The trick is learning how to move your vibration into alignment with the life of your dreams.

I’ve studied manifestation for almost two decades. I’ve seen it work in my life, the life of my husband, the lives of my friends and family, and even the lives of people I’ve spoken with on the internet.

So, it’s the least I can do to share the modalities and techniques I’ve learned as one more tool in your belt to help you live a life better than your wildest dreams.

So, How Can I Help You?

My mission in creating the Adenturing Dreamers blog is to help you start living your best life now — not someday. Not in 40 years. Now.

I will help you to:

Satisfy your wanderlust by teaching you my personal travel tricks and creating awesome itineraries for you.

🌟 Build a positive mindset to support you in living your most fulfilled life.

✨ Learn the art of manifestation so you can co-create a life wilder than your wildest dreams.

This is your life, and you deserve to live it the way you’ve always dreamed. I can give you the tools to make that happen.

Where I’ve Lived And Traveled

Like I said before, it’s hard to catch me living in the same spot for too long. And if I’ve stuck around a certain place, I definitely have a good reason for it. Otherwise, you can usually catch me off exploring somewhere new.

While this isn’t a definitive list of every place I’ve traveled, it covers a pretty big chunk of it. My expertise lies in the following areas:

In the United States:

📍 Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming

*I grew up in Utah, lived in Arizona for 10 years, and my current home base is in New York.

In Europe:

📍 The United Kingdom — England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

📍 Ireland

📍 Italy & Vatican City

📍 France

In Oceania:

📍 New Zealand

📍 Australia

In North America:

📍 Mexico

Where I Want To Live and Travel — AKA My Third Decade Bucket List:

When I was a kid, I set a goal for myself to travel to every country on the planet. As I grew up and told people about this goal, many responded with, “Why would you want to do that? Don’t you know how dangerous some of these places are?” And it scared me out of my dream… At least for a little while.

But the truth is, I do want to visit every country in the world. And I want to step foot on every continent — including Antarctica!

It’s a lifetime goal, and I don’t need to do it all at once. I’ve got my whole life to accomplish it!

That said, I just turned 30. And I’ve created a bucket list of 30 countries I have never been to before that I want to visit during this decade of my life.

Here is that list:

1. Argentina
2. Bahamas
3. Brazil
4. Canada
5. Chile
6. China
7. Colombia
8. Costa Rica
9. Egypt
10. Fiji
11. Finland
12. French Polynesia
13. Germany
14. Greece
15. Greenland

16. Iceland
17. India
18. Japan
19. Jordan
20. Maldives
21. Morocco
22. Peru
23. Singapore
24. South Africa
25. Spain
26. Sweden
27. Tanzania
28. Thailand
29. Turkey
30. Uganda

Many Thanks

There are many ways we can choose to live our lives. For me, I choose to live mine filled with abundance and adventure.

Thank you for following me along my journey. It’s readers like you who help make my dreams possible.

Hopefully, I can return the favor. I hope you find Adventuring Dreamers fun, useful, and inspiring.
