19 Best Photo Spots In Hollywood Studios For 2024
19 Instagram-Worthy Hollywood Studios Photo Spots To Capture Memories
If youโre looking for the best photo spots in Hollywood Studios at Disney World, then look no further. These are the best places to snap an Instagram-worthy pic inside the park.

If Iโm being honest, there are no bad photo spots at Hollywood Studios. Disney Imagineers make every inch of Waltโs theme parks completely immersive. But some spots are better than others and this blog is highlighting the best of the best when it comes to finding your perfect Disney pic.
Iโve been a Disney park fanatic my entire life. My mom took me on my first trip to Disney when I was three and Iโve gone back roughly every year for the past 30 years. Iโve been to Disneyland, Disney World, and Disneyland Paris and will someday make my way to the parks in Asia (stay tuned for my updates when I get there!).
On my most recent trip to Disney World, I made sure to keep an eye out for all the greatest photo opportunities around the parks. These are the top 19 spots to snap a pic at Hollywood Studios.

1. Retro Gas Pumps
These faux retro gas pumps look like the real thing. Theyโre located off the entrance to Hollywood Studios and make a great first photo of the day.
Location: Just past the entrance on the right.

2. Muppets Target
Who doesnโt love the Muppets? At Hollywood Studios thereโs an entire section dedicated to these lovable little creatures and itโs full of fantastic photo spots like this target. Try jumping in the center and see if you can get a perfect bullseye!
Location: In the โGrand Avenueโ section near the Muppets 3D Theatre.

3. Muppets Splat
If you continue further down the alley where the target is, youโll find a big yellow paint splat. Someone wrote โWet Paint! Do not touchโ on the wall, but it looks like they must have fallen off their ladder before they could finish the message!
The โaccidentโ might have resulted in a big yellow mess, but it also makes a superb photo spot for us!
Location: Also in Grand Avenue, further down the alley near the Muppet Vision 3D.

4. Muppets Light Post
Who doesnโt love a good light post picture? I know I do. From this angle, not only do you get your Singing in the Rain moment, but it captures both the Muppets fountain and the 3D theater in the background.
Location: On Grand Avenue behind the Muppets Fountain, near the Muppets 3D Theater.

5. Galaxyโs Edge Starfighter Ship
Galaxyโs Edge is full of photo spots that are out of this world. You can find a dozen or more Instagram-worthy locations in this section of Hollywood Studios alone. But one of my favorites was in front of this Starfighter Ship.
Location: Near the Resistance Supply in Galaxyโs Edge.

6. Galaxyโs Edge Wall
Disney always goes above and beyond to make you feel like youโve entered another world inside the parks. There is so much detail in everything, down to the very walls that surround an area.
I love a good photo wall. This rugged backdrop does enough to make the photo interesting without taking away from the star of the pictureโyou!
Location: Near the exit of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

7. Galaxyโs Edge Sci-Fi Machinery
Okay, to be honest, I donโt know exactly what these two pillars of sci-fi machinery are called. But I still think they make an engaging addition to a Disney World photo.
Location: Near the exit of Galaxyโs Edge on your way into Toy Story Land.

8. Slinky Dog Coaster
Thereโs nothing more iconic for an amusement park photo than to snap a pic in front of a coaster. And what coaster is cuter than Slinky Dog?!
You have to time this pic just right. Have your photographer (mine was my cute hubby) hold the camera ready and wait until the coaster is about to come around the bend. Then snap a hundred photos in burst mode while Slinky Dog is coming down the hill andโbam! Youโll have a fantastic Instagram-worthy Hollywood Studios shot.
Location: In front of the Slinky Dog Coaster in Toy Story Land.

9. Toy Story Ball
Toy Story Land has a bunch of cute Disney parks pics. Theyโre all close together, too, which is great because you can snap all the pics quickly and have more time for the rides.
The Toy Story Ball is iconic, so be sure to grab a photo in this spot before you leave Hollywood Studios for the day.
Location: Near Woodyโs Lunch Box across the road from the Slinky Dog Coaster.

10. Woody Drawing Behind the Toy Story Mania
This cute Woody drawing wall is kind of hidden and youโll miss it entirely if you donโt keep a look out for it.
Itโs located at the exit of Toy Story Mania. Youโll see it as youโre leaving the after-ride gift shop.
Location: At the exit of the Toy Story Mania gift shop.
Adventurerโs Note: You donโt have to ride Toy Story Mania to snap a pic at this adorable wall. Wait times at Toy Story Mania are often super long (85+ minutes), and while the ride is fun, itโs not my favorite.
Instead of waiting in line for an hour and a half, just walk up the path to the exit. It will feel a bit like youโre breaking the rules, but itโs totally allowed! Thereโs also a handful of other awesome pictures to grab here, like in front of a huge red and black checkers board.

11. Runaway Railway Theater
Mickey and Minnieโs Runaway Railway is housed inside the iconic Chinese Theater where the Great Movie Ride used to be. This building is an exact replica of the famous Hollywood landmark and makes for an excellent photo spot in Hollywood Studios.
After youโve snapped your pic, I highly recommend going on the ride, no matter what the wait times are. While I loved the Great Movie Ride, the Runaway Railway is adorable and so much fun. Itโs a worthy succession.
Location: The Chinese Theater in front of Center Stage at the end of Hollywood Boulevard.

12. The Hollywood Studios Archway
While many would recommend getting a pic in front of the Hollywood Studios sign (and you can do that, too), I opted for a closer shot. On either side of the sign are two square archways leading into the Animation Courtyard.
I think the carvings on the wall make for much more of an interesting picture than the modern sign does.
Location: The Hollywood Studios sign on the border of Hollywood Boulevard and Animation Courtyard.

13. Sunset Boulevard
Are you ready for your close-up? Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios is a lovely street based on a street of the same name in California.
Mikey and I opted for super mushy coupley photos, which I highly recommend replicating.
Location: Pick a spot anywhere on Sunset Boulevard. Or add an extra bit of Disney magic by capturing the Tower of Terror in the background.

14. In front of the Tower of Terror
What a classic. Taking a picture in front of the Tower of Terror is the perfect way to show off on Instagram how great of a time youโre having at Disney World.
Smile, strike a pose, or stare at the camera with a look of terror in your eyes for dramatic effect
Location: About halfway down Sunset Boulevard so you can capture the full Tower of Terror hotel in the picture.

Five More Hollywood Studios Photo Ops
These five photo spots complete this list as honorable mentions for the best photo spots in Hollywood Studios:

- Toy Story Land Checkers Board Wall on Toy Story Mania exit path.

While there are probably a hundred more fantastic photo spots in the park, this completes my list of the 19 best places in Hollywood Studios.
Create a Photo Plan for Hollywood Studios
While Magic Kingdom is the place to go for the traditional Disney pics and Animal Kingdom is full of gorgeous nature pictures, Hollywood Studios is the perfect place to take fun classic theme park pics.
The key to getting fantastic pictures is to arrive early. Be there before the crowds gather, ensuring ample photoshoot time and unspoiled shots.
Disney Resort guests enjoy a 30-minute head start, so if youโre staying on property take advantage of this! If staying off-property, try to arrive at the entrance an hour before the gates open. This will give you a head start to get to popular locations before the crowds arrive.
Head to Hollywood Boulevard first if getting stunning pictures of this classic street is important to you. This will be the only area where youโll have any major issues with crowds blocking your shots.
All the other pictures on this list are either off the main path or set to the side away from the crowd. So youโll be able to get most shots without worrying about too many park guests messing up the background.
More About Hollywood Studios
In 1989, Hollywood Studios debuted as Disney-MGM Studios, uniquely designed as both a theme park and a hub for film and animation production. Visitors not only enjoyed attractions but also gained insight into movie-making behind the scenes. Disney classics like Mulan and Lilo and Stitch were animated in this park.
Rebranded as Hollywood Studios in 2008, the park has changed a lot over the years. The Backlot Tour no longer exists and the Sorcererโs Hat is also gone (although a similar structure still exists at the Disneyland Hotel in California).
Hollywood Studios expanded in 2018 to include Toy Story Land in 2018 and then again in 2019 for Star Wars: Galaxyโs Edge.
There are now eight areas in the park: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Commissary Lane, Grand Avenue, Star Wars: Galaxyโs Edge, Toy Story Land, Animation Courtyard, and Sunset Boulevard.
